Universal Orlando Mobile Ordering: Everything You Need to Know + My Favorite Places to Use It

One of the easiest ways to save time at Universal Orlando Resort is by using mobile ordering. It’s simple, convenient, and—surprisingly—not nearly as many people use it as they do at Disney World.
If you haven’t tried it yet, here’s everything you need to know.
How Mobile Ordering Works at Universal Orlando
After downloading the Universal Orlando app, you’ll notice a Mobile Food & Drink Ordering option right on the main screen. Tap that, and you’ll see a list of restaurants currently offering mobile ordering.
Most quick-service restaurants participate, although there are a few exceptions. Availability can vary from day to day. For example, I’ve seen Richter’s Burger Co. available sometimes and missing other times. Green Eggs and Ham is another popular location that doesn’t currently offer mobile ordering.
The app makes it easy to see what’s available during your visit.
Ordering Your Food

The process is incredibly simple.
At restaurants like Minion Cafe, a Team Member will usually tell you to head inside and grab a table before placing your order. If it’s especially busy, they may seat you themselves, but most of the time you can simply choose any open table.
Once you’re seated:
Open the Universal Orlando app.
Select your restaurant.
Order food for your group.
When you’re ready, tap that you’ve arrived.
Scan the QR code located on your table.
That QR code tells the kitchen exactly where you’re sitting so a Team Member can bring your food directly to you.
In our experience, drinks usually arrive first—especially if you’ve ordered a Coca-Cola Freestyle cup or a specialty beverage—and your food follows shortly afterward.
We’ve honestly never had to wait very long. Universal’s quick-service restaurants are usually pretty efficient.
Why I Recommend Mobile Ordering
For me, mobile ordering is one of the easiest “theme park hacks.”
Instead of standing in line trying to decide what everyone wants while hungry family members change their minds three times, you can:
Browse the menu at your own pace.
Customize your order.
Find a table first.
Spend more time enjoying the parks instead of waiting in line.
Those saved minutes can add up over the course of the day.
Our Favorite Quick-Service Restaurants
One thing I’ve really appreciated over the last few years is how much Universal has improved its food. The menus have become much more creative, and you don’t feel like every restaurant serves the exact same cheeseburger anymore.
Islands of Adventure
Our favorites include:
Three Broomsticks – Probably where we eat the most. The fish and chips are consistently one of our favorite meals.
Green Eggs and Ham – A must if you’re looking for something fun and unique (just remember it doesn’t currently offer mobile ordering).
Blondie’s – A solid option if you’re exploring Toon Lagoon.

Universal Studios Florida
These are our regular stops:
Minion Cafe – One of our favorites, especially because mobile ordering makes it so easy.
Richter’s Burger Co. – Ever since the menu update, we’ve really enjoyed eating here.
Mel’s Drive-In – Great for classic burgers, but don’t overlook the chicken sandwich. It’s one of my favorites.
Epic Universe
Since Epic Universe is still new, we’re continuing to work our way through the restaurants, but so far these stand out:
Oak & Star Tavern – Fantastic barbecue, and we had one of the best burgers we’ve ever eaten in a theme park here.
Pizza Moon – You really can’t go wrong. The pizza is excellent.
Le Gobelet Noir in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Don’t overlook this one. We tried the Cuban melt, and I still think about that sandwich. It was honestly that good.
One Important Tip About Dining at Islands of Adventure
This catches a lot of first-time visitors by surprise.
Many of the quick-service restaurants—especially around Toon Lagoon—close much earlier than you’d expect. Green Eggs and Ham often closes around 4:00 p.m., and several nearby locations shut down well before dinner.
If you’re someone who likes to eat later in the evening, plan ahead. Otherwise, you may find that many of the restaurants you wanted to try are already closed.

Mobile ordering is one of the simplest ways to make your Universal Orlando day a little easier. It’s quick, convenient, and lets you spend less time standing in line and more time enjoying attractions.
Combine that with Universal’s increasingly impressive food options, and quick-service meals have become one of the highlights of our trips.
